Message from the Superintendent

As the Superintendent of Schools, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the Cameron County School District website! Within these pages you will find important information regarding our schools, academic programs, and extra-curricular offerings. You will also be able to access information about District Policies, cafeteria pricing, and the school calendar. Most importantly, you will see that we are a District of Excellence that produces well-trained students who are equipped for success in post-secondary education, the US military, or a diverse workforce.

As a new member of the Cameron County educational community, I am very pleased and impressed with the school board, administration, faculty, and staff. The students I have had the pleasure to meet thus far have impressed me as hard-working, polite, and eager to achieve both academically and in extra-curricular programs.

The schools of the district are located in the rural picturesque community of Emporium, PA, the original home of Sylvania Electronics. Today, the region is well-known as a leader in the powdered metal industry. With a population of just over 5,000, Cameron County is the commonwealth’s second smallest in both population and land area and was formed in 1860 from parts of McKean, Elk, Clearfield, Clinton and Potter counties. The mountains and valleys of Cameron County are the perfect setting for all types of outdoor activities. In spring and summer you can hike, bike, fish, swim, canoe, camp, bird-watch, sit by the stream, view the eagles at Stevenson Dam and study nature everywhere. Autumn brings fantastic foliage and the hunting seasons. Snowmobiling and cross-country skiing are favorite winter activities.

Please take this opportunity to browse our website to learn more about all that our district and community has to offer!

Most sincerely,

Dr. Keith S. Wolfe
